I fell in love with the repetition of circles and stars in this layout sketch. Many times, we crop our photos in squares and rectangles, and it’s a different mix to step out of the box with photos cropped to the circle shape, which was my favorite part of the sketch. I decided to repeat the same photo instead of using three different photos in the trio. Also, I edited my photos to black and white to draw emphasis and uniformity to the circle shape and add ease of eye flow when looking at the layout.

Lucky, Lucky Life- Wendy MorrisI used a circle stencil to mist behind the larger photo. I used a mini pie chart stencil for another circular graphic behind another photo. I mixed up textures on the star pattern—stamped stars, wood veneer stars, Puffy Sticker stars, stars from the ColorWays™ Accent Pack, and even a hand-stitched star. The twist on texture adds dimension and depth, yet also simplicity to the layout. The gold accents in the words on the banner shape, Rub-On Transfers, and Accent Pack add a touch of sheen that pops perfectly off of the emerald green in the ColorWays™ Emerald Collection. I added some fun to the mini pie chart by showcasing several pattern papers in the ColorWays™ Emerald Collection, as well as some fun doodling in one of the "slices" from the pie chart.

This tag is the perfect opportunity to use up your paper scraps! I used paper scraps from a previous project using the Colorways™ Emerald Collection to cut freehand as banner shapes for my tag. I layered the paper scraps on top of each other and behind the resin picture frame. I enjoyed adding handmade touches of sewing with my sewing machine.

I layered flowers on the tag and added paper leaves from the ColorWays™ Emerald Accent Pack. I also used Puffy Sticker leaves and floral sprigs on the tag. I used quite a few mixed media techniques on the tag, with heavy gesso, modeling paste, mica powders, spray mist, and heat embossing.
